Initially, I was anxious about participating in my first web conference. I was not sure if I would be able to navigate the site, and know how to appropriately participate. I did not have access to a microphone or camera, and did not know if I would be the only one without these.
My concerns were immediately resolved as I logged in. I could read the comments being shared by others, and I had no trouble discovering how to make a comment myself. I was not the only one without a video and audio feed, so I felt totally prepared for the session.
I enjoyed hearing all of the technology that other districts are using. I wrote down a few of the sites mentioned, and plan on visiting them soon. I also enjoyed hearing information about requirements for the degree plan.
Dr. Cummings did a great job keeping up with the scrolling questions, and I appreciated that her answers were typed in the comments. I did not have trouble hearing when the audio was working, but it sounded like some people did.
Altogether, I would describe my first web conference as a success. I was able to log in, make comments, hear what was shared, and learn about new technology sites.
